Friday Night Live Music in Bromsgrove: HANZ at No.3a

Good food. Cold cocktails. Live music. And absolutely no need to organise a taxi into Birmingham.

Last Friday night, something rather lovely happened at No.3a.

The tables filled, the cocktails started shaking and Worcester-based performer HANZ provided the soundtrack as another Friday evening got properly underway in Aston Fields.

And while we're generally quite fond of a Friday night at No.3a anyway, live music has a habit of changing things.

Dinner becomes an evening. “One quick drink” becomes another. And suddenly nobody seems particularly interested in checking the time.

Funny, that.

Live music, dinner and drinks — all under one roof

The idea behind our Friday night live music in Bromsgrove is actually pretty simple.

We love good food. We take drinks rather seriously. And we think both become even better with a brilliant local musician a few feet away.

HANZ delivered exactly that.

As the evening got going, there was a proper Friday-night buzz around the restaurant. Couples settled in over dinner, groups of friends ordered another round and conversations carried on against a backdrop of live music.

It wasn't a concert where dinner happened to be available.

And it wasn't dinner with some music quietly happening somewhere in the distance.

It was that sweet spot in the middle: great food, cocktails, live entertainment and a room full of people enjoying themselves.

Exactly how Friday night should feel, really.

HANZ brings the soundtrack to Aston Fields

We're lucky to have some seriously talented performers around Worcestershire, and we love being able to give local artists a place to do what they do best.

For this particular Friday, that was HANZ.

Performing live while guests ate and drank, HANZ brought an energy to the restaurant without making the evening feel like a formal gig.

That's one of our favourite things about live music at No.3a.

You don't need tickets for an enormous venue. You don't need to stand in a crowd nursing a plastic cup. And you definitely don't have to stop talking to the person you came with.

You can order dinner. Have the cocktail. Listen to the music. Order the second cocktail.

We won't judge.

A different kind of Friday night in Bromsgrove

We're a neighbourhood bar and restaurant in Aston Fields, Bromsgrove, and the neighbourhood part of that matters to us.

There should be places locally where you can go for more than simply something to eat.

Places where you can meet friends, stay longer than expected and have the sort of night that feels like you've actually been out.

Friday with HANZ was one of those nights.

Plates were making their way out of the kitchen, cocktails were crossing the bar, HANZ was performing and the whole restaurant had that unmistakable hum you only really get when everyone is rather pleased they decided to go out.

No gimmicks.

Just the right combination of people, food, drinks and music.
